PANAVIA AND EUROFIGHTER

Elettronica Aster is part of a Consortium assigned with the responsibility for the Terrain Following Radar equipping the MCRA Tornado aircraft (TFR), specifically as the manufacturer of the antenna receiver (LRU8). Over 800 production units have been successfully delivered to this tri-national program, and more were produced for export campaigns (RKSA).

To this day, EA continues to provide expert servicing and repair for this critical mission equipment. The experience it has accrued in participating in this program has represented one of the most significant milestones in its recent history. Still, today EA keeps skills and technologies to perform MRO activities on this system and address obsolescence in case of occurrence.

The four nations participating in the Eurofighter Typhoon consortium (United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, and Germany) selected EA as a work-share OEM company for the MDLR PDS and the Chaff and Flare Dispenser programs. Having supported the three Eurofighter production tranches and several export campaigns (e.g., Austria, Kuwait, Qatar), EA currently sustains the consortium in the Quadriga campaign and is working within the Eurofighter community in meeting all exports. Elettronica Aster is respectively a workshare partner with Cobham and GE Aviation for the Chaff & Flare Dispenser and the MDLR systems and sub-tier of Leonardo for the Captor (M/E) and the IRST.
